July 2026 Football Camp

The Rongotai BEST Academy and foundation (RBA) ran its fourth free holiday camp during the July school holidays with over 40 young people attending including six girls. Interest continues to build in our free coaching sessions across Rongotai college, Evan’s Bay Intermediate and a number of eastern suburbs primary schools, and the July camp reflected this being our largest camp to date. We had good weather and our Coaching Director Wynton Rufer was again supported with the coaching by a number of senior students, recent old boys of Rongotai College and father Midge Goodhue.

A number of old boys visited the camp including Jamal Fiso, former Head Boy and President of the Rongotai Old Boys Association, Ross Bond Rongotai’s Sports Director, and Nigel Simpson a former team mate of Wynton’s in the first XI and the 1982 captain and former member of the NZ World Youth Team (under 20).
