Background on the Rongotai BEST Academy Charitable Trust
We are a brand new school and community-based sports and activities academy formed by a small group of Rongotai old boys dedicated to lifting participation and performance with the goal of providing high quality free sports lessons to Rongotai pupils and primary and intermediate aged children in the eastern suburbs. Our first sport is football and to date in 2025 we have provided more than 70 free lessons to boys and girls.
We are in the process of building a website and our accounting and admin systems. We have formed a charitable trust and have applied for charitable status. We have established a group of committed old boys and trustees with deep coaching, governance, financial and community experience. RBA is designed as a long-term, sustainable initiative that aligns with Rongotai’s goals and complements the work of the Old Boys Association.
Our vision is to create a first-class academy that strengthens school culture, inspires participation, identifies talent early, is a forum for increased old boy involvement and connects students with opportunities - whether that be personal growth, leadership/coaching, club pathways, or aspirations such as university sports scholarships.
